What Happens When Kids Are Home Alone: Photographic Evidence

The scene: Thursday. 4pm. My house.

I got a phone call.

"Mommy! We are home alone!"

"Rachel isn't there?"

"NO Mommy! We got home and nobody is here!"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes. We're fine."

"Okay. I will call Rachel and see what's going on."

As it turns out, Gentle Reader, Rachel was there with in seconds of my hanging up the phone. I called her, and she was walking in my front door.

Today I found these pictures of Kelsey, taken in the few minutes before the girls called me. Now, doesn't it look like they were living in fear for their lives, and wondering who was supposed to be taking care of them?

She is the best! The secret is to go to a shelter, and look at every hideous dog they bring you. Just when you think there is no way you will ever find a dog at all normal, cute, or not a total spaz, they will bring out the dog that seems to be last ditch effort...And you will fall in love. And she will be your best friend because she will be so happy to have a family to take care of.

That cracks me up! They sounded so panicked, but it seems to me they were putting on a good show for their dear mama. All the while it was fiction!

The drama queen syndrome continues to the next generation....

I love dressing up pets--It is still fun after all these years!

This happened to my daughter and her friend as I raced to get home after being stuck behind an accident. When I finally got home and asked what they did - "homework!"

Thanks for the laugh! How considerate of them to photograph themselves!

That's funny, loved the pics! What a lovely dog she is too. Hey - the story you told on my blog is unbelievable! True? Wow. Were you okay? How long did it take to heal? And what did you put on it? Sorry, so many questions. But my belly button is killing me over here!

Growing up we had a Great Dane who was THE BEST SPORT. That dog endured countless hours of beauty parlor, Miss America pageants and the occasional bad cop/good cop routine. There is nothing better than a devoted dog friend. :)
